Dakota Territory Rangers was founded in March 2008 and accepted as a fully affiliated Cowboy Fast Draw Association club in July 2008 with 27 charter members. Club founders Bret & Deb Jorgensen and Dave & Marilyn Miles wanted to establish a club that the members had a voice in the operation of the club. The operation of the club is ran by the founders with the help of club officers being elected by club members from within the club ranks. Those club officers are elected yearly and help ramrod the operation and direction of club activities through out the year with the consensus of their fellow club members. All members are encouraged to participate in club operations, hosted events, and shooting practices without undue pressure from club members. To sum things up, our club has always been a bunch of great people enjoying each other's friendship, our colorful South Dakota heritage, and the Western art of gun fighting.
